Apartment Room for Rent - Northview Cedar Rapids

Private room for rent good size bedroom with closet and window. Has working overhead lighting and wood flooring. Apartment with Nest Property Management, upon moving in you will need to complete a background check for landlord. 2 roommates currently reside here aged young adult. There is a shared kitchen and bathroom. A pet parakeet lives here as well which may wake you up as early as 7 AM with his chirping.

MUST be neurodivergent-friendly and LGBT-supportive, no exceptions. We are queer plural systems who keep to ourselves and expect you to do the same. We communicate by text or Discord a lot. Please be someone who can be respectful and follow boundaries, as well as not too loud.

You must have a job and be able to pay for your portion of the rent plus your own groceries and major needs. Would prefer someone who does not need to leave the house before 8 AM. There can be exceptions for this or reduced rent if needed.

$150 security deposit plus first month's rent to move in. If you have a pet you want to bring along you must be able to afford another $100 deposit for me to give to the landlord, and an extra 15 dollars per month pet rent. Pet can be anything but preferably they are quiet and not huge.

Very limited on inviting people into the house - no parties, etc. you must make sure it's ok with BOTH roommates first. I'm considering couples allowed to move as long as they do not fight. An in-person interview and tour of the apartment would be done before move-in.

No smoking of any kind, under any circumstances, inside or outside the apartment premises. Mainly for the pet's safety but for several other reasons also this is a no-smoking complex.

You can't use the oven here but we do have a microwave and coffee machine. Plenty of fridge space and storage cabinets to keep your food in. Bedroom has an extra "pantry" closet in it but it's currently in need of fixing because it's jammed shut.

There is parking, AC/heater(limited use), lots of businesses within walking distance distance, a bus stop, laundry building on-site(about a 3 minute walk outside)

We do have internet access but it's currently not being paid for. If you need internet without use of a phone or PC hotspot you can help pay for it.

We try to keep the place clean and ask you to do the same for your areas, things do pile up sometimes but it should be manageable. We can discuss any issues you may have.

Free car rides anywhere you need as long as I have the time and energy to do it.
