Professional Security Guard Looking to be a Roomie

I am a full time contracted Security Officer for a tech center who spends his current free time from work on certifications (school/college but not in the traditional fresh out of HS sense). Zero tolerance for smoking INCLUDING cannabis (I am lethally allergic to cannabis so when I say no, I mean it!). Also a US citizen with a full deep federal CLEAR background check. No criminal history ever. In a nutshell, I'll most likely remind you a lot of Sheldon Cooper and the other guys from The Big Bang Theory, but if you want the full 4-11, keep reading.

Ex-firefighter paramedic from Central WI, ex-airline security out of Chicago, and ex-Specialty Personal Trainer (I took a spine injury so I cant do heavy lifting any more). I am hardly ever home and if I am, I'm glued to my laptop trying to complete coursework. I dont drink (AT ALL- health reasons/medication interactions) and I am not interested in roomies who want to live that college frat lifestyle. I come home late at night and sometimes into the early morning when "normal people" like to sleep, so I value roommates who are respectful of the noise level (meaning I wont wake you up when Im up so please dont blast loud thumping music or something at 6AM when I have to be asleep).

Multi-lingual but rusty with Spanish. I understand more than I remember how to speak back and often times I mix up the words with Italian. I can also understand some Portuguese. Part of my classes Im taking involve re-learning fluency in everything that isnt English. I myself am mostly Italian with some Spaniard. Both sets of grandparents were born in europe but moved here when their parents were required to by the US military during WW1. This also meant both sets of grandparents (well, grandads) fought in WW2 and so on. My parents had non-combat jobs and were born on different bases back in the 50s. I was born on an airforce base in AZ in the late 80s. Needless to say, we are a very long spaced out family when it comes to the age gap between generations. Family is half scattered across the US for what little is still alive and our extended cousins are scattered across central and southern Italy/Sicily as well as a couple left in Barcelona. Most of the family is long gone. What remains of it in 🇺🇲, none of us get along so you will never have to worry about me inviting family over. (It will never happen in a million years and they dont even know my address at the time of me writing all this).

I enjoy hiking/camping up in Boulder Canyon, trips to Europe, Puerto Rico and all around the world. Growing up as an Air Force kid, I got used to the idea that I move every few years and explore the world. I also have a love hate relationship with college so I try to navigate my way around unnecessary expenses and fluff classes that do not pertain to the degree/job (which is why most if my college experience has been certificate programs instead vs an extensive degree that would earn me the same exact qualifications).

Overall, still a big city boy at heart and in a few years I plan to move back to Europe permanently. I was staying in Paris on a job contract just before the pandemic restrictions hit and they had to send all of the US citizens back (USA required it- EU was going to let us stay 💔). I did rent my own solo apartment in Longmont for a year, but ultimately its just not cost savvy for me to have a whole place to myself. As long as I have my own private room and a space for the hamster car (KIA Soul), I'm set.

Oh, one more thing: I'm also a freelance artist and I specialize in character designs (I have done work for a studio with an upcoming animated wolf film including some background layout concepts and rough sketches for the director to use in the animation etc), costumes (yes, cosplay! But also stage play, fursuits, and anything else I can sew/craft- sky's the limit), plushies (I draft all my own patterns and sometimes I buy cute patterns from other indy artists), merch design (my own + some for the studio including manufactured plushies + offer it on the side for other artists who want to sell figurines or plushies or virtual avatars even). I sew professionally! I used to be an instructor for a large regional JoAnn Fabrics when I stayed in WI for nursing and paramedic college. I even had a nice show horse and show rabbits that I competed with on weekends during the summer and fall. My "bunnies" were some of the top award winners across four states and competed nationally (ranking 5th in the whole country). Those were bloodlines that I built up myself from both select pedigreed stock and a few unpapered starters who went on to prove their worth in gold.

Another thing I love are themeparks. Im a rollercoaster enthusiast but currently on a medical hiatus. That spine injury was a doozy and I decided to take a couple of years "off" to ensure everything completely heals properly. That was an experience I do not care to repeat, so for now I just stick to light duty activities that dont pose a threat to what I needed surgery for. Im telling you, I dont care who you are or what age you are- absolutely NOBODY wants to spend any amount of time in a nursing facility! (Even if its a really good one- you will still beg to be let out to go home)

Lastly, because it matters to some people: Yes, I am gay. Im also ADHD extroverted, like meeting new people, making new friends on every adventure, and although it may not seem like it, I do actually have a variety of physical disabilities (like what happened to my back is now a permanent thing even after surgery). I am the energizer bunny that keeps on going, though. Bandage me up and in a few months time I'll be good as new right back at it. I am SINGLE, not at all "ready to mingle"- I prefer my solitude in that aspect, I have absolutely no interest in hook ups, extremely high standards and hyper critical of anyone that dares ask for a date beyond coffee with friends, and if youre THAT worried still, STI/STD/HIV negative (I worked around people with bloodborne pathogens, still clear). I am gay, but also aro-ace. If my roomies want to invite their people over for sex, I dont care, just be decent and keep it to the bedroom. I've had some pretty gross/inconsiderate roomies (both queer and straight) back in the day and Id rather not see a wet stained couch or see the roomies in the act with one up on the counter top like a naughty cat who knows the rules are stay off the counter but defies them anyway. I have zero tolerance for haters of any calibur. If its "against your religion", dont even offer a slot to me unless you can respectfully conduct yourself in a professional manner- TL; dr version: You cant pray the gay away, its just not happening. I am not flamboyant rainbows and glitter in your face. If I didnt tell you, you'd think I was just another straight guy (thats because we're just as normal). Likewise, Im not suddenly your gay bestie (although I do love retail therapy, but Denver area doesnt have where I shop at anyway so booo for me), and NO- I am not suddenly randomly attracted to you for no reason at all just because youre another guy. Miss me with all that and I promise we'll get along.

Sometimes I like to cook or do a BBQ, but Im not your personal chef just because I'm Italian. Im also not that "oh no all Italians are short fused hot headed temper" type buuuuut I am that mob boss type that cares about my business and goes all in on whatever project I'm doing (whether thats security or anything else). 99% of people I meet love me and my bubbly personality, however there are some people who will just hate me for nothing other than Im not their vibe. If Im not a good fit with you, dont force it. Fake nice never works and I am always upfront and honest with people. I expect others to be that way with me.
